The Apple IIc Project!

It all started when I decided to upgrade the hard drive in my Mac Performa 550. Is speaking with Royce over at RCC Computers, she let me have an older Centris, so that I may perhaps ransack the hard drive from it. Before should would let me have it, she made me this deal--"Take this good computer, but you have to take a junk one with you too." And so the Apple IIc project came about...

Here, Ron and Adam lovingly admire the fine, fine machine that is a Apple IIc.
Here, Adam holds the box of the beautiful IIc. (The box proudly proclaims "System 3.5 Capable!")
Here, Ron begins the procedure. Did we explain this was a purely exploratory process? (Note the external 3 1/2" floppy drive to Ron's right, beside the Coke© bottle.)
Some screws on the bottom necessitated we tip the Mac onto its belly.
Note the lovely cream color: this was before blueberry!
Removing the standard 5 1/4" floppy drive makes more room for the process to continue...
Without the floppy drive, and with a little keyboard maneuvering, you get to see all that onboard memory--all 128k of it!
Parts Is Parts!
Here are some shots of the quality workmanship of the Apple IIc.
The handle, used for carrying, or for slinging into the landfill.
The speaker is one of the few parts I saved. 0.1 watts in 8 ohms. Someday, I want to hook this up to my Peavey CS-800 watt amplifier, and watch the flames!
Snake holds the motherboard, as a mother holds her child. Ron continues dismantling in the background.
Adam gives a shout out to all his Apple hommies, while wearing some piece of Mac gear.

The keys from the keyboard can be removed to spell midcoast.
Doh, it's PEBKAC!
What's left--it's now a piece of art on the cubicle wall! (And it still proudly proclaims "3.5 Compatible!")
