02/04/2002 Entry: "Billy Rhythm, your webmaster speaking..."

Yet another little web master style update done by yours truly: the Kiwanis Club, Rockland Maine web site is my baby. I did a revision. See what you think.

Jim seems to think I spend too much time talking about drums, and not enough about what I had for lunch. Today for lunch, I had some leftover spaghetti and sausage from The Village Cafe in Portland. We went there on Saturday after Blues Clues. Sue had the Veal Parmigian. She didn't like it. Why? It was not breaded veal cuttlets. Instead, it was real, honest-to-goodness, milk fed baby cow, only driven on the weekends. I liked it. A lot. It was molto bene!

Oh, and I like hi-fi too. The only problem is, I have hit a bit of a ceiling. When I have to upgrade my next component, it's going to be a big investment. A receiver upgrade is going to cost me 2k to do what I need it to do. Speakers? Please. I'd need to drop 3-4k to get better than what I have. So, I should concentrate on software. You know, new vinyl. More later.

Replies: 1 person has rocked the mic!

I would be inclined to disagree that you have hit a ceiling in either speakers or your receiver. No offense but I think you have to stop and realize there is a world of great audio product reasonably priced that isn't named HK or Definative. I personally don't think I would buy a new HK piece at this point. I think the company has issues it needs to deal with and your experience in dealing with problems hasn't impressed me.

In terms of the Definatives I think if you looked around a bit you would find plenty of speakers in the same or similar price range as your BP2000s (or are they 20s?) that would suit you quite nicely.

I don't want to sound as though I am saying any of your gear is garbage or not good. Your gear is really nice stuff so I am certainly not knocking it.
