10/04/2002 Entry: "Snare, sandwiches, and shouts out to friends"

Here's a good looking Grestch snare. I don't think the color would go well with my yellow kit, I think. edit It's gone already! It lasted about 1 hour after I found it.

A comment from Genova! Great greasy wops, Batman! I've been calling you for a week, and your phone is disconnected! How do we best reach you?

And about the sandwiches, Dad. Jim's sister owns The Pastry Garden. Jim has a little bizness where he sells a bag lunch for $3.50 from his sister's store front. Get a sammich, chips, and pickle for $3.50. It's a good deal. Well, for the last couple of days, he's had a special order of about 50 extra lunches. So he hired me for a couple of hours each morning to help him. The pay's no too shabby, and I netted a free tuna sandwich today. I was going to go tomorrow too, but they don't need as many sandwiches tomorrow, so I've been given the day off. I plan on sleeping a little late, then making breakfast for the family.

Speaking of breakfast! Last Saturday, Patrick and I pulled the morning shift here at the office. On Friday, Patrick said we should have SPAM and eggs. He didn't have to ask me twice. Then, he suggested chicken in a biscuit. Or what some may call a toad in the hole. Or, what I call a Hole in the Middle--thanks to Poppy from NYC. So that's what I did. Fried SPAM, with holes in the middle--made with real fresh eggs (and pretty big u'ns, too), and Canadian brown bread. They were, and I'm not bragging, simply AWESOME! They were so good. And it was a good thing, too, 'cause we were hammered with calls. We brewed up a pot of French roast coffee (which we both drink black) and drank the whole thing, just the two of us, before 11am.

And Maria... Thanks for leaving your kind comments. Although we've never met, I can tell by your comments and by your blog that you are a really sweet person. Your friends should be pleased to know. And tell your husband Happy Birthday from Billy Rhythm!

Replies: 2 people have rocked the mic!
