08/13/2004 Entry: "MI-5, shotgun style"

This week, I'm taking the shotgun technique for the MI5. No, it's not about shotguns, silly. It's just five questions, but they're spread out; they're not about any one particular topic. Play along, won't you? Feel free to leave your answers in the comments section if you don't have your own website.

1. What 5 things are a "must have" in your refrigerator at any given time?
My fridge needs milk, butter, ketchup (for Susan), bacon, and a Brtia pitcher full of water. (We've really been going through the water lately. Susan's trying very hard to keep herself hydrated while she's breast feeding.)

2. What 4 books would you keep if the rest had to go?
I'd keep the Bible, a book I have of Chinese poems written in prose, Richard Brautigan's "Revenge of the Lawn," and my complete poems of Emily Dickenson.

3. You can only watch 3 TV shows for the rest of your life. What are they?
M*A*S*H, Tales of the Gun, and Good Eats for me.

4. If you could have 2 of your childhood toys back, what would you want?
For sentimental reasons, I'd like to have my Bugs Bunny drum set back. I also had this really great boat and undersea diorama that was really cool. It had this underwater backdrop, with the boat and a diver at the top. Then it had all these fish and sea creatures you could play with, pretending you were under water. I can't remember what it was called, though.

5. Most of us some kind of bad habit that we like--a vice of some sort. If you had to give all of yours up, what one would you keep?
I have two of these, really. I enjoy the occasional beer, and the even less occasional cigar. If I could only keep one, the cigars would have to go.

Replies: 3 people have rocked the mic!

5 Things in Refrigerator: CF Diet Pepsi, Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese, CF Diet Ice Tea, Bacon

4 Books: Bible, Little House on the Prairie Series (probably doesn't count--but I can hope), What to Expect the Toddler Years, HealthQuest Guide to Self-Care or some other type of medical book

3 TV Shows: Days of Our Lives (It's a stupid show, but I've watched it since Jr. High, so I couldn't give up on it now), Headline News, The View

2 Toys: Barbie Airplane and Barbie Townhouse

1 Bad Habit: Probably some sort of eating habit--like eating a pound of strawberries dipped in semi-sweet or milk chocolate (all at one sitting), or eating a $1 size bag of Wal-Mart popcorn every week, or maybe drinking a Cherry Limeaid out of a frosty mug every night with supper.

Guess I can't count--I need another thing in my refrigerator--and how could I possibly forget--Dwane and I both die for Cherry Limeaid!

I don't think that "having the occasional beer" really qualifies as a bad habit. There is nothing bad about it, and if it is only occasional, it really isn't a habit ...
