10/18/2004 Entry: "Web Templates"

I've had these ideas kickin' around in my head for blog templates. I don't really need them for anything, but my creative side had these things clunkin' around in there.

Blue Talk and Love
I heard the line in Earth, Wind and Fire's tune "September." I love that song. Anyway, I never understood the lyrics. So I looked them up. It inspired me. I like the play on the word "blue." I kinda invisioned this as a possible site for posting erotic fantasies/stories. (Blush.) Don't worry, Mom, I don't write erotica.

The Birth of the Caul
I had this idea when Matthew was born. He wasn't born in the caul--they popped it before he came out. But he started to come out with his sac intact. I did a little research on the subject, and was reminded of some of the old wives tales about cauls; kids born in cauls can't drown, they have ESP, etc. The title is a play on the Miles Davis album "Birth of the Cool."

Mercurial
Just liked the word. No other reason. But boy is it hard to find a picture of mercury!

Replies: 2 people have rocked the mic!

I have a gost pedal which I purchased in 1974 at a local store in Memphis,TN and have used it exclusively since then. I do not baby it; I just pack it up and go. It has never given me any trouble. The older it gets the smoother it becomes. The only maintance I ever give it is a shot of lubricant where the cross-bar feeds into the spring housing to eliminate squeeks. I did replace the standard beater with a small, wooden beater (marketed by Slingerland in the 80's). It gives my 20" Rogers bass drum a nice crisp pop and projection that is extremely clear. I love this pedal. Is there a chance that someone will begin production of it again?
