08/07/2002 Entry: "Julia's Sick, Michelle's new look, and Doug"
Michelle has a new layout. CSS looks so darn good, I may just have to go buy a book. I must say, though, that I liked her last layout the best of the 3 I've seen. I must also say that her crap pages look like my best pages do on a good day. Maybe.
It's this curse that God has given me, sort of. (See the movie Amadaus for a better explanation.) I have enough ability to recognize great drumming, yet I am a mediocre player at best. Same with web design. I can tell what looks good, yet can't give great life to my own pages.
Julia's had a fever for the last 24 hours. She's also been complaining of a sore throat and headache. Today she said her neck hurt. The doctor wanted to see her right away. All those symptoms point towards strep throat--or cephalitis. Luckily, it was the former.
I answer the phone here at work the same way each time. "This is Bill, can I help you?" Why is it that so many people think I'm saying my name is Doug? It's uncanny really. Almost every week, someone thinks my name is Doug. They'll even call back and ask for Doug. Today alone, I've had two people think my name is Doug.

you'll get the hang of it, billy. just keep trying :) and let me know if you find a great CSS book, i'm in the market for one, too.
