Now,
how do yo go about adjusting those springs? Ok, here's how you do
it. On the inside of each spring cover, you will see a channel (see
Image #1). Use a small, sturdy instrument, and push in the tab inside
the channel (see figure #2). Then, using your other hand, twist the
entire spring housing.

In
image #3, I've completely tightened the left spring. As you can see,
the left spring controls the forward motion. In image #4, I've completely
tightened the right spring, or the return spring. You can barely get
the beater to move forward! Now, you'd never really do either of these,
but it shows the flexibility of the spring tension available to the
player.
